Director’s Welcome

Dear Valued Members and Guests,

Welcome and thank you for spending a few moments to get a greater understanding of an organization making an impact in the Atlanta Metropolitan area. Project Friendship, a Nonprofit Organization, is a tax-exempt entity organized exclusively for charitable, community, youth development and education purposes. Our goal is to provide valuable and comprehensive opportunities for youth development and economic enhancements for the communities of East Point and College Park.

The founding members of this great organization saw a need to enrich the lives of young people in the Atlanta Metropolitan area whom society has had difficulty reaching. Project Friendship is dedicated to ensuring typically unrecognized talent have greater access to quality programs and services that will enhance their lives and shape their future. In collaboration with local partners, Project Friendship offers young people support as they work towards a chance for prosperity and success; by exposing them to adults who respect and listen to them, providing a safe environment where they can have fun and be themselves, and involving them in constructive activities that channel youthful energy into challenging pursuits.

Although the majority of our programs and services are intended to include both males and females, we have a few initiatives that are tailored exclusively to African American young & senior males. With over 200 members, we are dedicated to nurturing the development of boys to men through mentorship, education and social activities. We also host a Father Initiative Program where we encourage dads to actively engage as fathers and promote excellence in their families. In a world that has never seemed more threatening and devoid of promise for people of color, Project Friendship provides a tangible measure of hope.

The organization’s youth development and community strategy underlie all Project Friendship mandated outreach programs. Our initiatives cultivate a sense of belonging, competence, usefulness and influence that builds self-confidence and self-esteem. The following is a list of some of our ongoing programs:

Project Friendship also provides unique social and business networking opportunities to help develop peer-to-peer relationships on both a personal and business level. Members and sponsors of Project Friendship have the opportunity to engage in efforts that impact the community in a positive manner and aid in the development of the next generation of Atlanta’s leaders.
